Using the generic postscript driver works fine, only the T1 driver fails. To add to the difficulty, Apple has removed AppleTalk from the system control panel so the only options are to ‘add’ a printer using “IP” printing, “Default” which includes only Bonjour connections and “Windows” connections. Printing a test page through this driver is fine. Now I can’t avoid it as our office will be migrating workstations to Snow Leopard.

If the printer imabepress supported, check the printer connection and add it again. I’ve placed a service call requesting the Fiery software be updated by Canon. As you have seen you need to use the Canon PS Printmonitor, opened via the Utility tab, to access the printer information. Please check your private messages. I went to the device configuration page on the Counter Check screen, and here’s what it says: View answer in context. At a guess I would say that a reset of the printing system on that Mac and creating the printer queue again resolved the issue.

Now when setting up this iPR driver, I enabled Bidirectional communication, and when I click “Utility”, I am able to see the printer’s current jobs, and the little picture there shows the main iPR C1 unit with the arm-loaded LCD screen.

I am able to see the CMYK toner supply levels just fine through this printer. There is an update to the T1 – V2. We run a lot of printable material through this printer and having things in the mailbox is a godsend – if I can’t use it, it’s no good.


Thanks in advance for any assistance, printer gurus! Then I got an error that reads: I was going to run the other Mac’s upgrades today, but then I found this printer issue. You also cannot use the Canon PPDs, although the PPDs will at least let you print but since you have a need to print to mailbox then you must use the driver for the Q1.
