يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُدَّثِّرُ   

74.1 . O thou enveloped in thy cloak ,

قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ   

74.2 . Arise and warn!

وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ   

74.3 . Thy Lord magnify ,

وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرْ   

74.4 . Thy raiment purify ,

وَالرُّجْزَ فَاهْجُرْ   

74.5 . Pollution shun!

وَلَا تَمْنُن تَسْتَكْثِرُ   

74.6 . And show not favor , seeking worldly gain!

وَلِرَبِّكَ فَاصْبِرْ   

74.7 . For the sake of thy Lord , be patient!

فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي النَّاقُورِ   

74.8 . For when the trumpet shall sound ,

فَذَلِكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوْمٌ عَسِيرٌ   

74.9 . Surely that day will be a day of anguish ,

عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ غَيْرُ يَسِيرٍ   

74.10 . Not of ease , for disbelievers .
