Go here for drivers: I tried to get the drivers on gateway’s site but the site does not work properly in IE or Firefox so I can’t get to the drivers. How satisfied are you with this reply? It’s 32bit xp btw. The “PCI device” is usually a modem.

Look here for the drivers. The only thing listed is the GM model. Sorry this didn’t help. I will download Everest on a jump drive and install it on that PC when I get home since I can’t get on the internet with it at this point Is this “Everest” the same program type as Everest Ultimate? It is best to get the drivers from them as their equipment is OEM and their drivers are designed to work with the device I just tried it but was unable to locate your model number on their site.

Missing drivers on Gateway 838GM after system recovery

I am much less stressed than I was this time yesterday! I saw afterward that I should have posted this in the audio and video forum. I do have access to a laptop at home with internet access, so once I have that program installed, I will let you know what info it reveals How satisfied are you with this response?

This was purchased as a refurbished unit audjo years ago so Gateway isn’t very helpful. I have never crashed a PC with a wrong audio driver. It’s 32bit xp btw. This PC has a wireless card installed, back from when it wasn’t the computer in my home net work that was hardwired into the DSL, so it may be looking for drivers for that card.

Could you please confirm the model.
